Poor visibility in rain within 60 miles of front 28s 129w 30s 124w
33s 120w, moving east 25kt. Within 840 miles south of front:southwest
30kt, with heavy southwest swell. In a belt 240 miles wide centred on
a line 30s 132w 27s 141w 25s 147w: southeast 25kt. Belt of wind
moving east 10kt. South of a line 46s 170w 46s 156w 41s 141w 45s 120w:
westerly quarter 25kt, gale and storm areas as in warnings 346 and
348, with heavy southwest to westerly swell. Large high 1036hpa near
39s 152w extends ridges east to 35s 130w and west to 44s 168w,all
moving northeast 15kt. Low 1012hpa near 32s 167w, moving
southsoutheast 10kt. Within 180 miles of low: clockwise 25kt
developing by 160000z. In a belt 360 miles wide centred on a line 25s
150w 32s 159w 36s 168w: easterly 25kt, tending clockwise near low,
gale as in warning 347, with areas of poor visibility in heavy rain.
Belt of wind moving southsoutheast 10kt.
Outlook following 72 hours:
front 40s 135w extends southsoutheast, moving east. High near 37s
140w extends ridges east and west, all moving slowly east. South of
high and ridges, and west of front: west to southwest 30 to 40kt,
with heavy westerly swells. North of high: easterly 20 to 30kt. Low
near 33s 165w moving slowly southeast. In broad area about low:
clockwise 20 to 30kt. At 190000z, trough expected 33s 170w extending
south, to low near 50s 170w, both moving east. East of trough:
northerly 25 to gale. West of trough and north of low: southwest 30
to 40kt, with heavy southwest swells.
